[Opinions] Holly
Opinions? Comments? We thought of Holly last night and sort of liked it.. only #339 here in the states, which is a plus. =o)Holly Louise... a little "L" heavy but it flows nicely, I think.

I like Holly. I don't like Louise though. What about Holly Lenore?

Holly is cute, though I probably wouldn't personally use it. Holly Louise has way too many l's imo and sounds like a stutter. The mn shouldn't have any l's, that way it would flow better. What about:Holly Samantha
Holly Imogen
Holly Tabitha
Holly Tess
Holly Rebecca
Holly Rhiannon
Holly Ruth
Holly Sabrina
Holly Emma
Holly Eve
Holly Amanda
Holly Ava
Holly Faye
Holly Mae
Holly Georgia
Holly Jane
Holly Katherine
Holly Miriam
Holly Natasha
Holly Bianca

I had a cousin that died at 15 of systic fibrosis, so the name is very close to my heart. She was a tow-head with porcelain skin, and extremely sweet. Her parents named her Holly because she was born on Christmas Day.I also have a cousin-in-law named Holly that is very sweet and soft-spoken. I adore her. There are the only 2 Holly's I have ever known... and they have made this name extremely sweet in my mind.Am not too keen on Louise, especially since Holly sounds like L is basically at the end of it (even though it is ee)... it's just too close IMO... L heavy, like you said.Since this name is rather short, I would pair it with something longer and with an A at he end of it (don't know why, just like that combp with a fn that has an "ee" sound at the end of it)... like Holly Katrina, or Holly Patricia... something like that.

I like Holly. It's cute but not too childish, and it's not popular at all. Holly Louise sounds nice and I much prefer it too Holly Belinda.

Holly is very pretty, and while not overly popular right now, it is common enough that everybody knows how to say and spell it. I have a cousin named Holly Noelle; she was born at Xmastime. I wouldn't use it, for that reason and also because our last name is Holland. lolHolly Louise is l-heavy, but it's okay. Holly Belinda just doesn't sound good, even though I like Belinda. Maybe it sounds too much like that old movie "Johnny Belinda."

I think Holly is a beautiful name. I do think there's too many ls in Holly Louise though, and I am sooo tired of Louise as a mn. Holly Belinda would get my vote.S xx

Louise is a family name. But so is Belinda, so whichever. I'm just trying to include an "honoring" mn. =o)

Or would Holly Belinda sound better?

Holly Louise is an ok combo.
I've always thought Holly was a little immature- I can't see it working on a 40-year-old really. Could be worse, though.

I think Holly is a fine name

Holly is a nice holiday name, like Noel or Noelle. I really can't see Holly, Noel or Noelle as a human name.

Really? I would have guessed it was way more popular than that. I've heard of several little girls named Holly. And I know plenty my age too, but that doesn't really apply.I think it's an okay name. I do like the plant, so that's a good connection, and the Christmas tie gives it a nice feel to me.I'd agree with your comment on Holly Louise. It does seem to sound alright, despite the L's. I think it would work fine as long as your last name doesn't have too many L's.

It's nice, but I know about 10 Holly's off the top of my head, so it's a bit too popular for my tastes. Holly Louise is okay, but I think it's too heavy of an 'L' sound.
