[Opinions] Diana, Dia... French or English? WDYT?
For my main character I'm leaning towards Talitha or Diane, but would pronouncing Diane the french way [Dee-an] be confusing? Especially since this is a book. Also if I pronouced Diane the english way [Die-an] could I still use Dia [Dee-a] as a nickname? Is there any other names that I could use Dia as a nickname for? Also what would be a good middle name for it?
I possibly might put the two together and have her name be Diane Talitha.WDYT?Thanks!!!

Well, you can't control the pronunciation your readers will use. Maybe you could have another character in the book pronounce it wrong and have the character correct him/her if you want to make it clear.Dia could be a nickname for die-AN. I think Talitha Diane flows better than Diane Talitha.

I would say it 'DYE-ann'. If you want it pronounced 'DEE-ann' you might want to spell it Deanne or Deanna. You could use 'Dee' as a nn, or 'Dea' for Deanna.
