1. Yes, I knew an Anya growing up. She would be about 26 now.2. Anya Liv sounds like "On you live." Is Reine pronounced Rain or Ray-een?3. Anya Grace, Anya Neve

It would be Anya & Liv.
Reine is pronounced 'REHN' (it's French).

I think Anya & Liv are good sibling namesThey work well together.

I think it's fine. I love Anastasia, but Anya is plenty gorgeous enough to be a full name, in my opinion. And about the sig, I prefer Reine just cause it fits the sibset best. And for a short unusual name, how about Eris, Nyx or Aida? I think all of those are pretty darn cool.

I LOVE Eris, but unfortunately my surname begins with 'S', so it would clash :(

I like Anya very much.How about:Rivka
Lana
Isla
Moira:0)

I love Moira, but Anya Moira sounds like "on ya more" to me. Maybe Liv Moira would work though... nope, didn't notice "live more" sorry

I love Anya! I think it is perfect on it's own. I quite like Liv and Anya as sisters :)

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, and yes some more. I absolutely adore the name Anya on its own. It's so much more unique than Anna (which is nice, don't get me wrong), but not as fancy as Anastasia or Anstace or anything of the sort.Anya and Liv make a great set. For some reason, Reine and Liv seem like two bizarre spellings of Rain and Live when paired together, as if the parents couldn't spell. With Anya, Liv becomes a name again. It's weird.Unusual short names... hm. Let's see.Riva

I've had Juno on my list for a while. Sometimes I love it, sometimes I just like it.
Wren has been one of my 'Ren' substitutes. I haven't fallen for it, really.
I have been considering Aoide, although it's not really very short.
Thankyou for your input!

1. Could I use Anya as a name on its own?
Anastasia doesn't fit; I need a short name.No. It's too cutesy and insbustantial and using nicknames as full names is a practice I hate. It's traditionally a nickname for Anna, but Annabel or Anneliese would work too.2. Anya or Reine to go with Liv?Anya if it's a nickname but Reine if you'd just go with Anya. For the record, I prefer Liv as a nickname too. I'd adore a sibset of Anna / Annabel / Anneliese and Olivia / Lavinia / Livia / Liviana "Anya and Liv"!3. Considering my name is Hannah, I didn't want to use Anna as it's a variation of my own name.
Anastasia is too long a name really to go with my long mns, but I do know what you mean.
Thankyou for your input!

DuhHow did I miss that? It's right there in your username! I think you could get away with using Anya as a nickname for anything ending in -ana, though those tend to be a bit long. Adriana, Eliana, Mariana, Juliana, Liliana....

Anya's great on it's ownMy niece's name is Anya. She's absolutely adorable and I've always thought her name was brilliant. It's good on its own, not as a nn.

Agree.I quite like it on its own. And I like Anya and Liv out of the two names suggested, in case the OP is wondering :)
