I dont' like it..it looks like a trashy misspelling of Eric.

It's not a new name discovered, just a different spelling.

Erik is ok, if you used Arik people might spell it wrong. (on the other hand I think Aeric looks cool. I love names beginning with Ae
I like Erika for a girl.
