[Opinions] norwegian name? i need a american-sounding nickname
My sister is very norwegian but shes been living in america for 7 years. she named her kid ÞÓRFRÍÐR HERLEIF !! The poor child hardly speaks norwegian and she get tormented over her name! i need nicknames that sound almost american. the name is pronounced Tove-freed her-leaf

It's a female, I assume... Tova, Frida, Hera would all be fine, Tova would be the most obvious. What's the Norwedian nickname? That'd probably be fine too. How is the name usually spelled? Because NO-ONE is going to spell it Þórfríđr in the US, 2 of those letters don't exist here. I don't think the problem with the name is the pronunciation or sound, it's the spelling. It's almost in a different alphabet.
