[Opinions] Severin
WDYT of Severin for a boy, any FN or MN suggestions?I do not pronounce it the correct way it because it bothers me. I say "sev-er-en". I would say it correctly except for the fact I heavily dislike the zev, and reen parts for me it's to hard to say plus most would mispronounce it as the way I say it anyways.ETA: WDYT of Severn as well? I say it "sev-ern" it's conected to my name so it has something special to me.

I love Severin. I prefer the German pronunciation, but then the only person I met with the name is German. His middle name is Elias, which I also love.

I prn Severin the same way you do, but I can't say I like it much. It calls to mind words like "sever" and "severe". "Sevrin'" is how I would prn "severing", so it's a no-go for me. I guess you could call him Sev, though, which wouldn't be too bad.
As for Severn...I think I prefer it to Severin, but only if it's prn seh-VERN. Masks the "sever" part that way.

Severin, is okay. Not great, I think its akward to say, but okay.Severn, is not okay. It's the name of a waterway where I live, and would be very odd as a name, to me.

Well, some people say that Maxwell, one of my favorites, just makes them think of the coffee brand. Severin makes me think of coffee, because of Savarin brand coffee. That's all I can think of when I see this name.

It says in the database that the Scandinavian way to pronounce it is ze-ve-reen. That's wrong. It's sev-eh-reen. (No Z sound that is) I like Severin but think sev-er-en is weird (obviously, since it just isn't pronounced like that here) I think you could use it though. I just think it's too close to the word sever.

I quite like it. How would you pronounce it? 'Zev-eh-reen'?

I say sev-er-en, I explained in my orignal post on why

Oh yeah, sorry.
I dislike Severn, because it's a river and a number (spelled wrong).
Severin is nice.

funny you should say that [m]lol that's why I'd use it actually because of the River, it's connected with my name since my name's dervied from it :) kinda has a special meaning for me.

Oh I didn't know Sabrina was derived from Severn. Interesting.
I am still put off it because of its similarity to the number seven.
