[Opinions] Michael
Since my grandfather's name is Michael, and I love him dearly. I know that Michael is a an over the top popular name but besides that fact, my uncles middle name is Michael and I have two cousins with the middle name Michael. So would you still use it or no to honor my granddad?

Gorgeous name, but definitely overused. I guess it's ok as mn, even if there's other people in your family who have it.

ya totaly if you don't use it as a first name because of popularity and use it as a middle name your not going to call your kid blank Michael it would be ok

Michael is one of those names I got sick of as a kid. However, because it is so popular and has been for decades, I can't really judge it objectively. I may simply not like it because I got tired of hearing it. If you don't like the name but want to honor you grandfather and uncle, I would use it as a middle name. But if you like it, then all the more reason to use it as a first name.

I don't care for the name, partly because it's overdone, but not only that, I don't like it anyway. BUT if it's to honor family members, I would still use it, even if I didn't like it, as a middle name. I think the middle name slot is perfect for a name you don't particularly like but want to use to honor someone. I gave my daughter a middle name I didn't like to honor my mother and grandmother.I realize that you didn't say you didn't like Michael, but if you do like it, that's all the more reason to use it, even as a first name.

I would still use it, if you feel like the confusion level would be low enough. I love Michael as well and it's my dad's name (and in a sense, my name. My name Michelle was chosen because it was derived from Michael). But if one of my siblings beat me to using Michael as a first name, it will definitely slide to a middle name-only status.

I love names that honor. I would definitely use it as either a first or middle name.

I'd use it still. I think Michael is a great name. It's been really popular for an incredibly long time, but it's a traditional name and not a trendy one, so to me the popularity wouldn't really matter because it wouldn't date it.

I'd use it but only on a girl for me.
