[Opinions] Re: How do you pronounce Anneliese?
I don't think it's like analyze... In the German pronunciation, there are four syllables... And it's an EE sound as opposed to a Y sound. Ann-ah-LEE-zah.As for me, I pronouce it ann-ah-LEE-sah. Basically the German/Danish way (I have a friend Annelise who is Danish so I'm sure that's why) but with more of an s sound than a z.But, basically, your way is right. anh- or ann- or -leese or -ah... It all works. It's about personal preference, because this name is pronounced so many different ways all over the world.ETA: I just talked to my friend Annelise, and she said that when she's in the US it's "ann-ah-LEE-sah" but when she's in Amsterdam it's "ahn-nah-LEE-zer" ish. But I suppose you could denote that in a few different ways. Basically, there is more of a long a at the beginning, more of a z sound towards the end, and a bit of an r tacked on, hehe. But yeah, like I said, it's kind of up to you.
