I really like Theodore, but like you I am not particularly fond of any of the nicknames. They are ok, but just not my cup of tea. I would just be tempted to not use one.

I love Theodore. It's one of my favorite names...sounds warm and distinguished at the same time.

If I met a Theodore, I would address him by however he was introduced to me, or whatever he told me to call him. I would do that with anyone. I would never automatically "nickname" someone if they were introduced by their full name. I think that's rude.

(I do love the nickname Teddy for a baby and little boy. It's one of my favorites -- but like I said, only for a little one! It's one of those nicknames that a boy quickly outgrows, in my opinion.)

I love Theodore! It's one of those names that everybody knows, but rarely uses. I like the nn Theo, but Teddy not so much. Another potention nn is Dorian, but it would somewhat defeat the purpose because Dorian and Theodore are the same amount of syllables. But I think it's cool nonetheless.

I adore this name! It's my grandfather's name and I would love to use it has a middle name for my future son. He goes by Ted which I don't really care for. Teddy would be cute for a young child and Theo would be great for a young adult or a middle aged adult. You could also use Teo I guess. Teo is a nickname I use for my son whose name is Matteo and I'm sure it could go just as well with Theodore.

I LOVE Theodore. It's one of my top boys names. I've never cared for Teddy, but I do like Theo. If I had a son named Theodore, I'd call him Theo (although another one of my top boys names is Leo, so I suppose I shouldn't use these names together).

I love the name Theodore, it is wonderful and uncommon as well as the nam of my favorite president. As to the nn thing. I don't usually give nn's I just use them if people already have them, so no I wouldn't call him Theo or Teddy, although I do love the nn Teddy.

Theodore is too stuffy for my liking. I would think the bearer of this name would also agree. I wouldn't shorten a name unless asked to. I would want to call a Theodore, Theo, but not Teddy.

I absolutely LOVE Theodore! It's my favorite boys' name. My combo is Theodore Elliott.

I'm not a big fan of nicknames, but I kind of like Theodore's. I'd only call someone a nickname if that is what they generally went by. Personally, I'd only use Teddy for a baby; Theo and Ted would be for an older kid/adult.

I'd definatley use it, with the nn Theo. I know about four Theodore's who all go by Theo.

I really, really like Theodore. It's a name that's almost on my PL but because I prefer Isidore to Theodore it's never been added. I think it's a great name! And no I wouldn't call someone name Theodore Theo or Teddy unless I was told to call them that. I don't understand people who automatically start to call someone by a nickname without being asked to do so.

I don't mind the name, but it isn't a favourite. I also prefer it as a mn, rather than a fn. I'd probably be inclined to call him Theo.

I like Theodore. It sounds nice and elegant. I know a guy called Theodore, have known him forever. He is Theo to me, not Theodore even.

There was a Theo in my uni class in Oz - a really handsome and likeable Greek guy. I've loved Theo (the name!) ever since.

If I were to meet a Theodore I wouldn't dream of calling him Teddy or Theo, unless he said to do so. I find it really rude and presumptuous when people shorten the name of someone they've just met, esp without express permision. Simply reminding people the name is Theodore not Theo or Teddy should suffice.
I do like Teddy for a little boy, and Theo as an occasional nn.

I like Theodore. I think it's very handsome. I also like its various short forms.

However, unless I knew Theodore well, I would call him by whatever he preferred. Once we were good friends, he'd be Teddytedted or Fio or Dory or kiddo or whatever struck my fancy, but if we were, say, coworkers, I wouldn't shorten his name without permission.
