Emily and Stuart both love old-fashioned names. They would like their daughter's fn to be short and spunky, a less popular cousin of Ruby or Lila. They would like to be a little more stylistically daring with her mn, which should be a long, heavy, truly outmoded name. Emily used to like Beatrice for the mn, but she is a btn-er, and has seen it get too board popular for her taste.

Belkys and Iván like traditional names, but they want to go beyond the classic Spanish names used by so many of their relatives. For their son's fn, they would like an English or Italian name. For his mn, they would like a name from the U.S. Top 1000 for 2007 (http://www.behindthename.com/top/lists/1000us2007.php) that ends in -el.

D.B. and Marcia want their daughter to have a very cute name. The fn and mn should flow well together: the fn may have 2 or 3 syllables, and the mn must have 1 syllable. They like surnames as fns, but are not sticklers about popularity: they could go for something as common as Addison or as unusual as Kinsey.

Tom is gay and in a serious relationship with Demetrius, who doesn't particularly want a child of his own. His old friend Lili is a lesbian and single, but also wants a biological child. Now, Tom and Lili are expecting a son, who they want his fn and mn to be distinguished and traditional. They want names that are currently fairly popular, but nothing that has been popular forever (i.e. David or John), because they already know so many. They also need to decide on their son's last name: will it be Tom's, Lili's, or will they hyphenate the two?
