I hate it. It sounds to masculine. Also don't use it on a boy. It is too surname-y.

Emerson is 100% masculine. It means "son of Emery" for heaven's sake! Emery is also 100% masculine.Emerson on a girl is very bad; just as bad as Johnson or Harrison.

I'd rather see Emerson on a girl than another Madison. But I still think it's way more appropriate on a boy.

I only like it on a boy.

No, no, no!
Emerson is a surname!
I don't understand why someone would name their daughter 'son of Emery' especially when the surame has no relation to them whatsoever.

I think it works better on a boy, seeing as it is from a surname that means "son of Emery". I don't like the name for either gender anyway.

This is the name of Teri Hatcher's daughter.
I don't like the name one little bit for a girl - it's a surname and that "son of" makes it a no-no in my book!.
I'd rather have Emma or Emmeline.

I don't like it. It sounds like a nerd to me.
