Help[Opinions] Rosewater?
I love Kurt Vonnegut. One of my favorite books (and characters) is Eliot Rosewater. WDYT of Rosewater as a mn for a boy? Too feminine despite the reference?

Louis Rosewater?
Another mn I'd consider is Proteus, for Paul Proteus, the main character of his first novel. It's not as pretty as Rosewater, though.

I prefer Rosewater for a girl, but I think it is likewise cool for a boy. Marco Rosewater occurs to me. I like both Jonas and Louis with it, too.

Oh dear! I'm in a negative mood today, not liking any of the names so far.

Proteus Syndrome
...is what Joseph Merrick, "the Elephant Man," likely had. Not at all pleasant! That association for me is too overwhelming.

Rosewater is quite pretty and I don't find it particularly out of place as a male name, but it's stuck in my mind as a cooking ingredient. I don't think it's too feminine, just too edible.

As another Vonnegut fan
I think it's fine, honestly. Especially as it's a middle name and it's literary.
Proteus, though, I'm not sure about. It's waaay too Furturistic for me.

I like Jonas Rosewater more than Louis Rosewater. Rosewater is a better name than Proteus, especially if you're planning on using Jonas or Louis (too much "sss").
