[Opinions] have you ever had starlings in your yard?
Because they are noisy, messy birds and are considered to be terrible pests. For that reason alone I would not want this used as anybody's fn. Besides that, as somebody whose name is similar (Starla) I can tell you that Star-names are considered pretty tacky.

Ewww, I hate starlings. It's not as much them I mind (they really bring out the wacko tree hugger in me), it's the neighbors. They get SO annoying in the summer - they clap at them to scare them away. They even used to play this awful tape of "get away" in starling language. So I associate them with sleepless nights and a bad time at summer camp the next day.

Star-not tacky to me!I've only known one Star-type person, a girl acually named Star. Her mother was somewhat romantic, however Star herself was a blunt and pratical girl, lived on a farm, could milk cows and ride horses. I admired her a lot.
so, that's "Stars" for me!
edit for typo.

That's pretty cool, actuallyIt's like being the only girl on the football or hockey team... and being named Fleur. There's just something darn cool about it!

Totally agreeI recently had starlings nesting in my roof, and oh-my-God do they make a racket in the mornings. Not a good name association for me.
