I came across the feminine name OLINDA, a lady of 80, who moved away from our town, the family seems to be from Russia. Now Seibicke says: "Italian and Spanish, fem. form of Olindo, of unknown origin, maybe influenced by the Greek place name Olynthos (fig)."
Wikipedia mentions a Brasilian town and derives its name from "O linda" (Oh, how pretty!).
