What problems, associations (good and bad), possible teasings do you see for the name Solomon on a boy?

I love it, and I don't think anything about it is bad enough (associations, possible teasing) to not use it, imo.

It's strong and historic. I like it -- though it doesn't quite fit with my own family. This name is uncommon (in the States, anyway), so a boy might develop a good sense of individuality -- or, he might hate you for naming him something so dramatically different from all the Jaydens, Tylers, Michaels and Christophers in his class.Solomon is a bit mature and serious, but it also rings with wisdom and character. If you love, use it. What better reason to name a child?

I actually quite like it. I don't see any major problem with using the name and can't think of any possible teasing names either.

It's a lot to live up toAnd Solomon - while a great man - was also slightly nutty. To me it's just too heavy of a name. Much too heavy. But it's got a long history of usage and Solly is a great nickname. So if you like it, go for it.

People might call him Sol...which isn't teasing, but if you dislike the nickname, that might be a problem. They might, at some point, call him Salmonella, but this might just be my way of thinking. Its a good name; use it.
