[Opinions] Omega
When you hear this name do you think it best on a boy or girl?

I would prefer it on a girl but I find th name to be more of an insult. In a wolfpack the omega is a wolf that is almost outcast but not quite and essentially serves the purpose of carrying the stress. Not a very happy thing to be.

I think of it as a girl's name. I only think of the Greek letter and the phrase "I am the Alpha and the Omega." I believe this is in reference to God? I'm not sure but it always pops into my head whenever I hear either Alpha or Omega. I don't think its horrible, just not good. It would be a good character name I think, but I don't think I like it for a real human. But I disagree that it would be a trashy girl. She would have had to get her name from somewhere, meaning the parents would probably know the history of the name before naming her. I can see artsy, hippie type people naming their child Omega before I see some trailer trash hearing it and thinking "Oh, that sounds purdy!"

Yes, that's rightI also have this connection. There are several references in the New Testament book of Revelation. Most are phrased like this: "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending..."
One is phrased like this: "I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last..."

Oh okay, I thought it was from the Bible but I wasn't sure! Thanks!

Honestly, I don't think it works as a name. It reminds me of the Omega Moos from "Revenge of the Nerds".

I knew a girl named this once. She was African American and very smart and classy. I have never met anyone else with the name.I am in the states, never heard of Omega Burger. I have no other association with the name.Even though it implies end, I think of completion which sounds better.

I live in the midwest (kind of) and have never heard of it either. I've driven about the more midwesty midwest and have never seen one. I believe you that it exists, it just must not be very widespread.

I'd prefer Omega for a girl. I don't care as much for Omega because to me, it means "the end" since it's the last letter of the Greek alphabet.I love both Zeta and Delta. I like Delta because mathematically it represents change, and because of the connection to rivers. I can't use it because it's the name of a nearby town, so would be a bit silly for a child. I really love Zeta mostly because of the sound. In general, I love that the names could be replaced with the Greek letter. I would love to be able to sign my name with a symbol (though I'm not about to change my name to a symbol, haha).I think the sound and appearance of Sigma, Rho, Tau, Chi, or Psi would better fit a boy, though I don't particularly like them.
