Sophia gave birth to a baby girl!
Atheleisia finds out that she’s having sextuplets. What do you do? Do you under go selective reduction? If you don’t, do all children survive?
When Atheleisia and Edward found out that Atheleisia was pregnant with sextuplets, they couldn't believe that it was true. Of course there were lots of multiple pregnancies (and even sextuplet pregnancies!) in Edward's family, but that shouldn't increase Atheleisia's changes of giving birth to multiples. Even more shocked was Edward's mother Kate who had had two sextuplet pregnancies, first one resulting healthy triplets (one of them being Edward) and second one resulting quadruplets with various disabilities.
After serious thinking and several discussions with family members, especially Kate, Edward and Atheleisia made a heartbreaking decision to undergo selective reduction as they knew that surviving babies would have bigger change of being healthy. Some months later Atheleisia gave birth to four babies via emergency c-section. Sadly, little Lucas was stillborn. Three surviving babies Brady, Rhea and Alexa were rushed to NICU, but luckily they didn't have any severe health problems.
Now at age 1 Brady, Rhea and Alexa are happy and healthy children, who have a big loving family. On their first birthday they had a new cousin when their aunt Sophia gave birth to a little girl named Lyra. Everyone was relieved when Sophia had only one child, not sextuplets.
