[Opinions] WDYTO Hugo?(m)

I used to hate it when I first started hearing it a lot, which was nearly two years ago, but it has definitely grown on me. I like it a lot now and think it would be cute on a little boy and handsome on a man. I don't see any teasing potential.
I looove it.
Grand bold dashing trumpet blast of a name.
There aren't associations that would get him teased, it's just a funny fat old fashioned sounding name. My future roommate's boyfriend is named Hugo and when I told my friends that, to my shock and alarm, they all snickered. And here I was thinking Hugo would be a good fallback name if dear Rudolph Hugo Laurentius got teased too much! If you're worried about it, Hugh is a slightly less-awesome but more-handsome alternative that would induce much less teasing.

I love Hugo. I think it sounds very strong and handsome and is unique without being totally unheard of.
I really like Hugo, actually. I can think of three associations off the top of my head: Victor Hugo, author of Les Miserabes and other notable works; Hugo "Hurley" Reyes, an extremely overweight but totally AWESOME character on Lost; and Hugo Weasley, son of Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger.
I don't really see any ways to tease a Hugo solely on the basis of his name - I guess you could turn it into "You go!" and make some sort of completely juvenile joke out of that, but that really seems like a Kindergarten-level taunt to me, not to mention one that's not even that hurtful. As long as Hugo's middle or last name didn't start with a 'P', I think he'd be all right.
