[Surname] Surname Michael
Does anyone know anything about the German surname Michael?
My gradfather's family came from Germany and were some type of clock or watch makers.
I believe they pronounced it mick-ael but it's now pronounced mike-al like the name.
I don't believe the family was Jewish but the only time I've heard this surname (outside Germans) is on people with Jewish ancestory.
Can anyone help?
