I was watching M*A*S*H about a month ago and Colonel Potter was talking about his wife (Mildred) and all of a sudden it struck me as a particularly sweet and whimsical name.
If it reminds you of a friend, then go for it! It has (IMO) one of the best name meanings ever.
Because I really cannot abide the nickname Millie/ Milly, I prefer it as a middle name. My combo for the moment is Claudia Mildred.
