[Opinions] Nicknames for Miriam...talk me into Mim or give me another suggestion!
I love the name Miriam, but I am having a hard time finding a nickname that I like for it. I'm not that fond of Mimi; I'm not sure if Mira works; I don't think I like Miri.I think I could be talked into Mim, but I'd like to hear feedack on it!Any other ideas?

Well I always go for Miri when it comes to a nn for Miriam. Imo it seems to make the most sense and it sounds very sweet to me.

Wasn't there a character in the Disney movie The Sword in the Stone known as Mad Madam Mim? Anyway, I think I like Mem better. But my favorite Miriam nn is Mamie. I just find it to be so cute.

Mira definitely works, just to put that out there.Other possibilities are Mia and Ria, but they're all I can think of.

I'm not sure it really needs a nn, but if anything my first thought would just be 'Miri'.

Can I talk you out of it? I really don't like Mim, it's not really substantial I think. I don't liek Mimi either. I think Mira would be the best option, and I think it works. Other possibilities: Mirya / Miria, Mir (at least it's better than Mim to me, because it doesn't remind me of minimal, which Mim does), Ria, Riam

I think Miriam is a beautiful name that doesn't need a nickname! I don't know why people always try desperately to find a nickname for a name. I'm not such a big fan of nicknames. I think Miri, Mira and Mimi are all nicer than Mim. Ria would be a possibility. Mamie as well. I'd go with Miriam and would maybe call her Miri or Mimi from time to time.

I prefer Mimi or Miri to Mim, honestly. Maybe you could pull off Ria? But it's such a gorgeous name you don't need a nn at all, except maybe for a very young child or to call her from another room.
