Marilyn is okay. I can actually picture it getting popular in the next little while, though, since it's one of the nicer-lyn names.
I actually know someone with a little girl named Maralina nn Lina (or it might be Marilina...I forget the exact spelling), which I think I might like better.
I've never liked Carolyn, but I do really like Caroline.
