[Opinions] Alix (NOT Alex)
So what do you think of Alix pronounced ah-LEEKS ? or al-LEEKS ? It's a variant of Alice. Do you think people would pronounce it like Alex all the time ?

I really like it, but I have to admit that I do pronounce it the same way as Alex! That's just the way I prefer to say it and think that a lot of people would do the same if they saw the name written down.

I think it would be pronounced like Alex. But I like it so much that I think it would be a really lovely middle name. I have been crushing on Vera Alix lately.I say Ah-LEEKS btw.

I know a girl named Alix. She's originally from Poland but now lives in Toronto. She pronounces her own name like Alex (though maybe she's anglicized it), and this is how everyone else pronounces it as well. It seems to be everyone's default assumption. I think it would be hard in an English-speaking place to try using a non-Alex pronounciation for Alix.

I think ah-LEEKS. It was the last Tsarina's real name.

I think people would pronounce it more like AL-icks. So closer to Alex than your pronunciation however not quite. However, I definitely think its cool and like the name. And its history makes it pleasant for many BtNers while also making it seem trendy or normal enough for use today.

I pronounce it AL-icks, actually, I like it in some way... m...since I've read one of Judith Lennox's books with a main character called Alix. It now reminds me of old England, romantic, old manors and lots of beautiful landscape. But I'm not sure if the name would work for me on a girl today as it sounds pretty modern today and its form and ancient beauty could be "misunderstood" as a modern, trendy variant of Alice.

I liek it, and like it better than Alex. I would say it as ah-LEEKS, not al-LEEKS. But yeah, if you're in an English speaking country people will say Alex all the time, especially with all the creative spellings of so many names going around.
