[Opinions] Annabel or Amabel ?
I've liked the name Annabel for a long time. What do you think ? Annabelle is okay but I prefer Annabel as in "Annabel Lee" the poem by Edgar Allan Poe. The name Annabel was also used in the novel "Lolita". Which spelling do you prefer and why ? I speak French so I should like Annabelle but I just think Annabel looks better. Do you think it's too girly or a name for a cow (I've met quite a few cows named Mabel and Annabelle).
What do you think of Amabel ? I like it, but I'm worried that people will always think its Annabel. I pronounce it AHM-ma-bel. How do you pronounce it ? Which one do you prefer ? Annabel or Amabel ?

My cousins name is Annabelle Catherine, so I am a bit biased when it comes to spelling. I prefer that one myself- Annabel looks incomplete to me, but that's probably just because I'm so used to Annabelle. I think it's a lovely name, either spelling. Great nn potential too- my cousin mainly goes by Belles, but she gets Annie a fair bit too.
I like Amabel, but prefer Annabel(le), because I do think it would often be mistaken for Annabel(le) and because you lose the potenntial nn Annie, which is one of my favourite things about the name. I prn. it same way as you do.

Annabelle /nt/
I thought Amabel was a typo when I first read your subject line!
Amabel is actually the original form. Annabel is a variant
Anna is pretty but so overused where I live
Def. Amabel. Annabel is a tiny bit more "snobbish"-sounding...
