WDYT?
Do you pronounce it 'HEAR-ah' or 'HEH-rah'?

I've always thought if was HEH-ruh. It's a nice name, but it's too over-the-top because of the mythological character.

I say HI-rah (I as in bItten). I think it's okay, I really like the similar Era.

I pronounce it almost like HAIR-a, and it's one of those names I like a ton in theory, but it doesn't cross over completely in reality. It's almost too short for me. It's quite pretty, though.

Me too. It's a cool name, but I would never use it. Couldn't have worded it better than Schezar. :-)

I agree completely...(m)except the reason it doesn't seem to cross over to reality to me is because Hera was the head goddess, sort of making it matronly, almost like Zeus on a little boy. But yes it's pronounced like "HAIR-a"

I think it looks nice. I've never heard of it before so I don't quite know what to think yet. At first glance I'd say HEH-ra, but then want to say HEAR-a because the former is kind of awkward for me to say.

There's a kid at my church named Hera known as Hera the Horror- because she is one. Its not the greatest association for me. She prn. it Heh-rah, and so do I- the other sounds really odd to my ears. Overall, I'm not a fan of the name- I don't like the sound of it really.
