CAL-ah. (Cal like in Calvin). I promise that's the correct pronunciation too, as I used to know someone with the name.
I love love love it!
Combos I like with it..well, it's used in Arabic places so I like Calla Qaysarah (ky-SAR-ah).
Calla Sophia, Calla Fiora, Calla Brianne, and Calla Calanthe, Calla Esmeralda, and Calla Keturah.
I like it as a nn for Camilla too.

Just beause one person pronunces a name a certain way does not mean its correct.

Where are your manners?
It may just be the way I'm reading your posts, but it seems that you are always after me for one reason or another. Rarely are you kind (or so it seems). I don't mind being corrected or questioned, but please, try to be nice about it.
Again, I understand pet peeves, so if I'm just reading in the wrong tone, let me know, but that's not the way it seems.
As for Calla, the girl was half-Greek (her father was from Greece). I assumed she could pronounce a name from her own language. If her family had of simply chosen the name from a baby names book, then sure, I'd be skeptical, but I wasn't in this case.
