Help[Opinions] How do you think most people pronounce Kira?
I've read the name somewhere today, and on btn it says it's pronounced KEE-rah which is the correct way to pronounce it, indeed, but do English-speaking people also say KEE-rah (like the name Keira, somehow) or would they rather say "KIE-ra"?

Kee-ruh. Yes I think its fine for a child in an English speaking country, I went to school with a Kira.

I say KEE-rah and I think that's the accepted pronunciation in the US. KIE-rah would be spelt Kyra.

I say KEER-a and the only girl I knew who spelt it Kira pronounced it this way.

I know several Kiras and all of them pronounce is KEER-uh. I'm sure they've gotten the occasional "KYE-ruh" throughout their lives, but I think it's straightforward for the most part.

Keira Knightley made the Keira spelling popular but I think I read somewhere that her birth name was Kiera Knightley.
Kyra - KY-rah
I think it's a nice name but there are too many spellings which makes it confusing and it reminds me of other trendy names that you can spell many ways like Katelyn, Kelsey, Kelly, Kayla, Kaylynn etc so I guess I wouldn't use it. I also know quite a few dogs named Kira.
I prefer Kira (KEE-rah) and Kyra (KY-rah).

... and I definitely think it's usable in English speaking countries. Not many people would pronounce it KIE-ra unless it were spelled Kyra, imo.

I think it definitely works. I know two Kyras - one is KEER-ah, the other is KYE-rah, and neither has any trouble getting people to pronounce their name properly.

I would hope they'd pronounce Kira as "KEER-uh." If I had to guess, I'd say the only way most people would say "KIE-ruh" is for Kyra. But that may just be wishful thinking on my part.
Absolutely it's a name you could give a child in an English speaking country. 99% of the time you hear, "KEER-uh" (for Ciara, Kiera, Kiera, Kira). Heck, you even hear, "KEER-uh" for Kyra. The "KIE-ruh" pronunciation is very rare, at least here on the West coast of the U.S.
