[Opinions] How do you pronounce Chloé?
I'm babysitting for a French-American girl named Chloé soon and want to make sure I pronounce her name right. Is it klo-AY? I think that's right, but I just wanted to double-check.

In French it's klo-AY (the "AY" is more of an eeeehh sound not an ee sound I can't explain it but klo-AY comes pretty close). It is possible that she just pronounces it KLO-ee, though. After all she lives in an English speaking country and many people spell Chloe as Chloé or Chloe (dots over the e) to make sure it isn't pronounced as "KLO".

It would be "eh" as in "bet" rather than "ay". Anyway, the important thing is not to say "Klo-EE"!

With the accent aigu, it is pronounced "Klo-ay".

C'est KLO-ay. Emphasis on the first syllable.

That's how my friend Chloé says it.

DittoThat's how the Chloe I know pronounces it. Then again, she used an umlauted e (ë). I'm not sure if that changes the sound or not... but I know she did pronounce it KLO-ee.

The umlaut is used in this case to show it's 2 syllables and not one, so it's KLO-ee, not KLO (like Joe, Joë would actually be JO-ee / JO-ay (I really hope I didn't give anyone the bad idea to creatify Joey liek that :P)).
