Yeah, that's what we all think! But she couldn't really pick a modern name to go with Arthur! And names like Ruby and Mabel have become popular again, why not Elsie. :)

It's nice, but I prefer Elsa. Enid is ok, and I like Arthur.

Elsa is beautiful but Elsie is too nicknameish. It reminds me of Emmie. Nice as a nickname for Emmeline but not on its own. It's much better than many other names out there, though.

I LOVE the name Elsie, I think it's cute and classic. It reminds me of the character Elsie Carr in the What Katy Did books.

Wheee!I adore Elsie! It's so cute and nostalgic. I prefer Elsie as a nn for Elsa / Elspeth, but I'll take her any way she comes. Normally I don't care for repeated initials, but I love Enid and honoring is more important than flow / esthetics. Elsie and Arthur make an adorable duo. Congratulations!

Elsie seems to nicknamey to me. I can't think what it's a nickname for, but I think it must have started out as one.I've always wanted to get a female German Shepherd, and I always planned to name her Elsie. I like it for a pet name, not so much for a person.

I like it, but I read Paula Fox's autobiography in which Elsie was the name of the abusive mother. So I can't use it.
