I just can't fathom calling my kid Phin for short.I much prefer Fin or Finn, so Finnegan wins.

I'm just sayingThat people probably won't assume it's spelled Finneas just because he goes by Finn. +I mean, I know a Catherine who went by Katie as a child, and goes by Kitty now. No one ever assumed she spelled it Catie and Citty.

I think Phineas with the nickname Finn would be an interesting conversation piece. Many people get confused by everything, so I wouldn't try and dance to their tune.
