[Opinions] Athena or Charis?
If Leo had been a girl, the name was going to be Athena. It was settled on at that time. But now things have changed, and if the new one is a girl it seems most likely it will be Charis, though my son-in-law asks plaintively once in a while, "What happened to Athena?"Which do you think is better?

Charis, but...I have yet to find a name with a -thee- sound that I really like. The sound of Athena doesn't really appeal to me. I'd actually be happy to see either name on someone else's child, but I'm more likely to use Charis myself.

AthenaI love Athena :)Charis is ok, but I prefer the similar Carys.

Charis..I find Athena a little tacky, it's one of the well-known gods, like Zeus or Hera. Athene is a little better.

Charis is beautiful, so is Athena. I love Leo as well. I like Charis and Athena the same. Today I'd go with Charis. Keep in mind that Athena will be way easier to pronounce for people. Charis could be mispronounced as shuh-REEZ, CHAIR-riss, SHAH-riss, SHAY-riss etc etc I let a few people pronounce it recently and nobody pronounced it the way it should be pronounced. Spelling it Carys or even Karis would make things easier but I much prefer Charis. Go for it just be aware that you might have to correct people often and that might not happen as much with Athena.

I like both, but would prefer Athena. I'd spell Charis as Carys if I heard it and had to guess.

Athena hands down. I don't mind Charis, but I find it overrated.

Charis is ok but it bores me. I've met and heard of so many Carys, Charis, Karis etc I'm bored with it. It doesn't help that the most horrible person I have ever met is called Charis, but it's not awful. Just not for me.Athena is pretty, historic and has a much nicer sound IMO.

Athenabut what about merging the sounds and using Corinna? I would love to see Corinna used.I don't care much for either Athena or Charis.

Charis. I like Athena, but for some reason I picture a middle aged lady. Perhaps a compromise? Charis Athena?

Athena, without a doubt. I love it. My youngest, Anna, wants to name her dd Athena. Charis is nice, I suppose, but I can't help but hear 'carrots.' It's probably just me.
