Help[Opinions] Tomyris
I'm feeling a bit bloodthirsty. Not really. I just kind of noticed that a lot of my recent (female) name infatuations have a bit of a war theme going on (Sophonisba- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sophonisba, and Nancy for Nancy Wake- http://www.nzedge.com/heroes/wake.html and Artemis as well.)

WDYT? Better as a mn methinks, but I'm just not quite sure what with. Suggestions would be very much appreciated.
And, just to tone things down a bit, Katherine. For Kate Sheppard and Katherine Mansfield (I am rocking the namesakes right now). Again, I prefer it as a middle name. Juniper Katherine? Theodora Katherine? Vera Katherine?

I prefer the forms Tomiri(toh-MEE-ree) and Tomiride(toh-mee-REE-deh).
It's so rare that I think there would be pronunciation problems. I think it's best as a middle name.

Are they just different forms of Tomyris? Where did you get them from? (Sorry, just curious)
I think they look a bit better because the y in Tomyris bugs me a bit. Not really though.

They are the forms used in Italian when speaking of the historical queen Tomyris. I suppose you could consult Italian translations of the ancient authors that mentioned her for proof(Herodotus, Cassiodorus, Strabo, and others).

Dot's combo is Catherine Tomyris. I think that is so fabulous
But yeah I've been thinkin' about Tomyris too it's cool. I'm saying toe-MIE-ris and do not care if it is said otherwise. I don't know enough about the chick though. I wish it were in the database because it would be PNL for sure.
I am beginning to really hate Katherine as a middle name. I am going to think to see if there is anything I like it for.
