[Opinions] Re: Spelling and Pronunciation Survey

- Caitlin, Caitlyn, Catlin (KAHT), Kaetlin, Kaitlin, Kaitlin
- I prefer Chloë to either Khloe or Chloe.
- As far as I am concerned, there is only one acceptable spelling of "Michaela", and that is M-I-C-H-A-E-L-A.
- Hayley, Hailey, Haylie, Hailee, Haylee
- I pronounce Juliet differently from Juliette, and the difference is even more obvious between Violet and Violette. It changes the emphasis (JOOL-ee-et vs. joo-lee-ET; VY-oh-lit vs. vy-oh-LET). I generally prefer -ette to -et. I prefer -bel to -belle in most circumstances.
- Usually "line", not "lean". CAHR-oh-line, EHM-ah-line (nonstandard), ROZ-ah-line, ehv-AN-jel-een. Carolina is cah-ro-LY-na but Rosalina is roe-za-LEE-na.
- I only have one true "favourite" name ATM, and it is Korë - which would probably be looked on as an "alternate spelling" of Cory etc. anyway. I'm generally not fond of alternate spellings.
- Kaya, Maya.
- Mae. I'm not sure why, but this has always been my favourite spelling.
- There's the aforementioned nonstandard pronunciation of Emmeline, and my insistence that Madeleine is only to be pronounced "mah-deh-LEHN" and never "MAHD-uh-line", but otherwise, no, not usually. I'm not a big fan of creative spellings, in general, but I do admit to liking "Kaeleigh" more than I should.
