I like it. It's classy, distinguished and not overdone. The first middle name that comes to my mind is Josue, but that's Span. Plus, he won't be a kid forever. Could call him Xave for short and it's not too different from Dave. (My friend's bro. Zavier goes by Zave)

Josue is good because DH is Joshua, and I'm half Spanish and part French so it's fine.
Phillip is out because our surname is Phillips

yes, I suppose Phillip Phillips would be somewhat unfortunate, wouldn't it? Easy to remember the name and not a lot of spelling to learn, but not what one wants to be stuck with.
