[Opinions] Re: Snow and Plum (questions about "filler" middle names)
in reply to a message by Lily8
I wouldn't categorize Joan as fillerish. That's my FN and besides my Granny and my Goddaughter, I have never met another Joan my age (FN or MN). Anyways, to answer your questions:
1. Which names do you consider to be "filler" middle names ?
Marie, Rose, Ann, Nicole2. Which names will be filler middle names soon ?
Elizabeth, Brooke, Katherine, Breanne / Brianne3. Would you ever use a filler middle name ?
No, unless it was a name I just absolutely adored. Still, it's highly unlikely I will use a filler name4. If it was tradition to use a filler middle name (let's say Grace is a family name and you wanted to use it but disliked it as a first name) would you still use it as a middle name or would you try to find an alternative ?
Find an alternative, Grace is way too overused5. Do you have a filler middle name ? Do you know why your parents chose it ? Do you like it ?
My MN is Roseann, so I have two filler names put together. My mom named me after my grandmother Rose Ann (FN MN). Joan Adell was her original choice, but she changed it at the last minute. No, I don't like it. I wish I was Joan Adell6. Do most people you know have filler middle names ?
Yes, most of my friends have the MN Marie or Nicole
I have to say no to Plum and Snow, even as MNs. I used to have a dog named Snow, so that's all I can think of. And Plum is food to me, not a person's name.
