[Opinions] Re: Joel
I love Joel. Don't know why it is not popular in USA/UK etc. But then Joseph (Josef) is not popular in Sweden but Joel is (we pronounce it YO-ell here)."You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."
"It does not become me to make myself smaller than I am." (Edith Södergran 1891-1923)

Joel is a nice name but since we'll likely use Joseph as a mn for a son, we wouldn't consider it. To me it seems like a modern version of Joseph (I'm sure that is not accurate though)... I hadn't thought of pronunciations other than the one syllable way, but after reading other posts I think I prefer yo-ELL but imagine that would be difficult to use in the US. ----Betsy-----
