[Opinions] Alabama!
What do you think of it for a middle name for a girl?
I kinda like it right now :)
It seems original and kinda crazy yet cute.
The only thing is that im not much of a fan of the united states. So do you think its weird to use one of their states as a middle name?
I was kinda thinking Alexis Alabama!
But thats just an idea. Thanks :)

Sorry I don't like it as a name for a girl! I don't care for it as a name in general. But it still seems more masculine to me. Thats just my opinion though.

I like it as a FN or MN for a girl. Georgia and Carolina are used as names and no ones only thinks of the states when they hear them. So I think it's fine. However Alexis Alabama dosen't sound vey good with the repeated sound.

That's because...The states have people names. Not the same thing as people having state names.

SeriouslyGeorgia and Carolina were named after people. It is a totally different concept.

ExactlyAnd moreover, Georgia and Carolina are well established as people's names. It's dumb to use them to justify ridiculous names like Alabama. Why not Massachusetts and Wyoming, since we're at it?

I don't like it at all, and if you must, then pair it with something else than Alexis.

No way. Too tacky and ugly.

No.It is my state. Unless you love it, leave it alone.
*defensive.*Do not cheapen it by thinking it's "original and kinda crazy yet cute." It's not a cute little baby name. It's a state. With lots of dignity and history. Do not use Alabama unless it means something.

I think place names that are significant to the parents are kind of neat for middle names. But on its own, I don't think Alabama makes a good name. It's too tied to the South, and it makes me think of, like Murasaki said, poverty and backwardness.Oh, and Alexis Alabama doesn't sound good since they both start with Al-.

I think it is different from Georgia and Virginia. Georgia and Virginia are classic that were used as names before they became states. Alabama seems tacky, maybe also because that singer Travis Barker? named his little girl Alabama Luella which sounds very country. Carolina is much better and I even prefer Florida and AlaskaAlabama Alexis doesn't sound very nice at all.Oh and most people would probably use it because the like or have special memories of the state Alabama. It is very tied to the state unlike Carolina, Georgia and Virginia. I wouldn't use it if I didn't have a connection with that state.

Um, if you are not a fan of the United States, don't use one of their proud states to name your child after...just saying...Alabama is silly to use...I guess as a MN it's okay...sounds very silly to me for some reason...maybe because I always think of the band Alabama

I think it's fine as MN but not with Alexis

Sorry, but I find it really ridiculous. I don't like place names, and Alabama in my mind is associated with stereotypes of poverty and backwardness.I also find Alexis Alabama doesn't work so well, with the repeated "al" sound.

It's tacky. A trendy place name. Don't like the sound of it at all. It's definitely weird to use the name of a place you dislike as a name.

I don't really see how you can think of anything besides the Southern U.S. when you see Alabama used as a name...
