Help[Opinions] Luiseach pronunciation?
I've seen several different pronunciations for this name...Does anyone know if there is a proper pronunciation?
I'm very attached to Lucia, and its meaning, but I don't like soft Cs. I would much prefer there to be an S. I think Luiseach has the same sound, and a similar meaning.
Is it a big stretch to spell it Lusea or Luisea?
What are your opinions of either Luiseach or the simpler spelling?

I have no info on this name. I can't say I like the looks of it.

I thought Luiseach was pronounced LEE-sak, but I've never heard of anyone with that name, nor heard any authority pronounce it. Like an Irish person. :) I'd imagine, like a lot of Irish names, the pronunciation can vary based on where you're from.
Are you pronouncing Lucia LOO-see-ə or LOO-shə? I'd pronounce it the latter, and I prefer that pronunciation. I'm generally not a fan for altering spelling for aesthetics. I'd stick to Lucia, but Lusea doesn't look terrible. Have you considered Louisa?

I usually pronounce Lucia Loo-See-eh. Which is funny, because that's how people always try to pronounce MY name, and I have to correct them. I don't really like Louisa. Louise is my mom and my grandma's middle name, and neither of them really liked it. Primarily for the nickname Wheezy, which stuck to both of them!
I do, however, like Lucinda. I waffle back and forth, loving it and liking it.

I prefer Lucia, but it has so many ways to pronounce it, I'm not sure which one you're using. I'm assuming you're pronouncing it the last of these 3:
loo-CHEE-ah
LOO-shə
loo-SEE-ə
I think if you use the last of those phonetics, you'll get the effect you want without having to change the the spelling, and that's the pronunciation I usually think of automatically when I see it written.
Luiseach has the same meaning only in the root of the word at its basest, but I don't think that it's fair to say that the names are much the same. I don't particularly like it, but I tend to drift away from Celtic names, no matter how much I want to like them. I guess this is a tough question... if you really want to use that name but don't like the look of the letter C, them maybe just change that one letter? Lusia...? If you just fall more and more in love with Luiseach, than stick with it. I'm just not sure if it is supposed to be pronounced the same as, or even close enough to Lucia.

Idk if its 100% correct or not but hope it helps :)
I don't like Lusea or Luisea (looks like a creative spelling of 'Lucy' (along the lines of the ending of Chelsea) impo). If you want the -see-ah at the end I wouldn't recomend -sea.
