that's not an association many people would make. Even if I watched it I seriously doubt it would be my first association or that people who liked Anya first found it on the TV show. It is not a Buffy-centric name.

Buffy has a HUGE cult following. Any of the shows huge number of fans would likely still associate Anya with the show. I know I still do. Willow and Xander, too.
That said, I wouldn't assume the association to be true for anyone other than myself.
