I love the name Russell and think it carries a different vibe than most surnames, probably because it has been established as a first name for so long. I guess I mostly think of it fondly because its my Great-Uncle's name and he's a pretty great guy. I didn't even think of Jack Russell terriers. I thought Davy Crockett's legendary sidekick George E. Russell who I always thought was named Georgie Russell as a double name when I was little.
