1. I don't think its nicknamey at all.
2. I think if you want to the child to be called Daisy make it the first or at least make it a middle name. I just can't really see it as a nn for Margaret or Marguerite.
3. My boyfriend used to have a jack russell terrier named Daisy, no people though.
4. I don't like alternate spellings.
5. I can't think of any at the moment.
6. I don't know any people with the name Daisy. I know a couple of dogs with the name, but no people. It is alot more popular in the UK than it is US though.
