I don't think the name is nicknameish, but I do think it is sickly sweet.
I don't get the Magaret thing either
I know two Daisys, The first was the little sister of a school acquainance who seemed ok, and the second is an ex-friend of mine who is the most obnoxious self centred woman I have ever known.
