[Facts] Pronunciation of Thaisa ?
I am having some trouble figuring out the proper pronunciation of the name Thaisa. It is a feminine name used by Shakespeare in Pericles, Prince of Tyre. Thanks in advance for any input =)_______________________________________________________________Listen to Mustn'ts, child, listen to the Don'ts.

I would guess either "thay-ZEE-ah" or "thay-ZEE-uh," depending upon your dialect of English.

Huh?How can Thaisa ever be pronounced "thay-ZEE-ah"? The "i" comes before the "s".I'd guess "tha-EE-sa".

*feels dyslexic*I suppose it might be pronounced "thay-sah" then, I must have misread it as Thaisia...pardon me!

Modern productions go the thah EE suh route. What Shakespeare thought it sounded like is anyone's guess, frankly, but he would have made sure it fitted an iambic rhythm.
