I don't like it. My name is Rachel, and I hate that to begin with. Then when it's spelled in a different way, it annoys me. I feel like Rachel has a set personality (like all the Rachels/Rachaels I know (except me) have the same exactly personality). Plus it's really really popular at my school (so it might, at least in my area, date a bit to the 90s). Like people were signing up to do extra credit for my English class and on the board (of 3 classes) there were 6 Rach(a)els, then there are all the ones that didn't sign up.

And I feel like Rachel is one of the most common names of this forum. I know that there are like at least 4 with the Rachel spelling and a few with the Rachael spelling.

But, yeah. I don't like it at all. Plus it sounds like "racial", which is a word that can be used very negatively.
