I prefer the name Josephine only because it is more my style, however, if I was going to decide between Josephina and Josefina I think I prefer Josefina.

I think Joey and Posy are great nicknames for Josephine (Posy is an old nickname for Josephine).

It's a good strong feminine name. Why fluffy it up? If I had to use the 'a' ending, I'd pick Josefina. I quite like the nn Fina.

Although the nn Fina is adorable for Josefina. I suppose you could still pull it off with Josephine, though. Josephine nn Fina. Yeah, it works. Joey also works. I'm not fond of putting genuinely masculine names on girls, but I think it's totally fine for a NN. Kyle, Billie, Nick, etc. all make perfectly fine NNs for a girl. In fact, I find masculine NNs kind of cute. I think the reason why I like Josephine is because of the historical connections with Napoleon's wife. Not that Napoleon himself was really that great of a guy, nor was his wife outstandingly loyal, but it makes for an interesting backstory.

In general, I'm getting tired of Josephine. A co-worker just named his baby Josephine. I think it's a bit too popular right now.

I really hate Josefina, it's an old woman name here (like Mabel or Ethel in English).
