I actually quite like it. I think I might slightly prefer Martina, but that's probably because I tend to like 'a' endings. I'd never even noticed the connection between martini and Martine before you pointed it out. I associate it with the English actress Martine McCutcheon (who was in Love Actually, if you've seen it).
But anyway. It is rather lovely. And could work on anyone, from baby to old woman.

Martine McCutcheon is how I came across the name. I love her character in Love Actually! :) I think my association with her in that movie might be one of the reasons the name appeals to me.
