[Opinions] Sara or Sarah?
I just love Sara. It reminds me of one of my favorite books, "A Little Princess". Sarah conjures up completely different images for some reason, I like Sarah as well but I just prefer Sara.
Do you prefer Sarah or Sara? Why? Is it just the look of it or the image that comes with the name?
Do you think it's too common? How many have you actually met and how old are they? Did most spell it Sara or Sarah?
Do you think people would always spell it Sarah instead of Sara?
I wouldn't use it as a first name because I have a cousin named Sara Jana but as a middle name.
Do you think it will lose popularity anytime soon? The name seems to have lost a few places in recent years. and now that even Laura and Mary are leaving the top 100 I think it might happen.
Do you like Sarai? better than Sara or Sarah? how about Zara?

because of the Biblical connection.
Ignore, double post
I like Sara better, but in English speaking country I'd use Sarah. I've met maybe 10 or so Saras and one Sarah (they were all Croatian) and Sara has been gaining in popularity in the past 10-15 years (Old Testament names were realy rare here before).

I much prefer Zara
I also am a much bigger fan of Sara as opposed to Sarah. My own middle name is the latter, nd I've always wished it were the former. Sara conjures up different pictures for me than Sarah, nd I get a totally different vibe from each. I've known countless Sarah's, but I have never come across a Sara - to my knowledge anyways - which perhaps adds to its higher ranking.
As for your other question, I adore Sarai, but am not at all fond of Zara.

I like Sarah, it's been giving me a very good solid feel lately. I think it'll lose popularity soon, and the default spelling is Sarah. It's a nice enough name. My sister is Sarah.
Although since our sibset is Sarah, Emma, and Anna, Sara would probably make more sense.
She went through a rebellious phase of spelling it Sara, but she came back.
I prefer Sarah and Sarah. Zara is such a little gimmick.

I prefer the way Sara looks, but Sarah is okay too. Either way, the name is very overused, which is unfortunate because I find it pretty.
I've met many people around my age (early twenties) named Sarah / Sara, mostly Sarahs. I know of a Sara who is probably in her fifties, but most of the Sarahs and Saras I've met are currently in their twenties or thirties.
I really like Zara (I prefer it to Sarah / Sara). Sarai is nice too, but sadly, I often think of psoriasis when I hear it.

If I'm forced to choose...
Sara, but I don't care for either name. I agree that they feel differently, and I would never even consider Sarah. I have a very annoying impression of Sarahs. I think Sarai is too much, and Zara is trendy and unappealing. I do know quite a few/it is popular, but I don't know any with it spelled Sara.

I wouldn't choose Sarai... The meaning is horrible...
For me, any confusion between the two in terms of spelling, etc is irrelevant because where I live (New Zealand) the two names are pronounced differently. Sarah is SAIR-ra and Sara is SAH-ra. I much prefer Sarah. Maybe it's a bit overused (in my year group of 80 girls at high school there were three Sarahs) but that would never stop me from using it, I love it too much. I think it's the sound that makes me like Sarah better, Sara sounds a bit like you liked Sarah but wanted to be a bit different (and posh), although I like the way it looks more too. It's also the image - I feel like Sarah is really adaptable and is a name that fits a wide range of people, but Sara is a bit narrower. I don't think Sarah will be dying out anytime soon, it's pretty classic. I like Sara too, but have never met one. I like Sarai, but find it a bit clunky, and I love Zara (which is ZAH-ra here, don't know about you).
Sarah looks more "complete" but Sara is nice too. While it's certainly a nice name to start with, it's completely overused in English-speaking countries.
I don't know about elsewhere, except Italy, where it used to be quite uncommon but is in the top 10 at the moment. So not the name I'd use myself.

I like Sarah because that is the spelling that Sarai in the Bible got her name changed to by God (it means Princess). Sarai means contentious...definitely not as good. Sara is a derivative of Sarah I know, but without the H it doesn't seem like the same name.
I know quite a few Sarah/Sara's- two are nurses that I work with at my job. One spells it Sara while the other spells it Sarah. I know another gal their age that spells it Sarah, also.

Do you prefer Sarah or Sara? Sarah it looks more complete. I have known only 3 Sarah's. Two spell it Sara.
Do you think it's too common? No, the Sara(h)'s I know are I think 21, 22, and 17.
Do you think people would always spell it Sarah instead of Sara? Yes
Do you think it will lose popularity anytime soon? Possibly
Do you like Sarai? better than Sara or Sarah? how about Zara?
No

I much prefer Sarah. The H lends it an air of elegance that Sara doesn't have, in my opinion, and Sarah seems more complete.
I have known nine Sara\Sarahs, no exaggeration. There is nothing inherently wrong with the name itself, but it has been so popular that I am sick to death of hearing it. All of the Sara\Sarahs I have known are now in their mid to late twenties, with the exception of one who is now seventeen. It is extremely common and for this reason, I strongly advise against using this name at this time.
I think it is bound to lose popularity. Any name that became as popular as Sara\Sarah was has no place to go but down.

Do you prefer Sarah or Sara? Why? Is it just the look of it or the image that comes with the name? - I prefer Sarah, because that's how my name is spelled. Sara had always looked unfinished to me. I really can't stand that spelling. :\
Do you think it's too common? How many have you actually met and how old are they? Did most spell it Sara or Sarah? - It's way too common with girls my age (16); one of my step-sisters is also named Sarah. It's gone down some, though, so it would probably be alright. And out of all the Sarahs I know, I think only one spells it Sara. I also know a few who are in their twenties or so, and some younger than me, but I don't know any exact ages.
Do you think people would always spell it Sarah instead of Sara? - Some people would, but I get a lot of, "With an 'h'?" So most people are aware of both spellings and careful of getting it wrong. My great-grandmother always spells it Sara or Sarha, though. But... she spells it right on my step-sister's Christmas gifts....
Do you think it will lose popularity anytime soon? The name seems to have lost a few places in recent years. and now that even Laura and Mary are leaving the top 100 I think it might happen. - Yeah. I think it will continue to go down, and then it will be safe to use again. :] I'm rather excited by its popularity decrease.
Do you like Sarai? better than Sara or Sarah? how about Zara? I like Sarai a lot too, but to me it sounds like it should be a nickname for Sarah. I don't like Zara too much.

Again, I have no idea what "A Little Princess" is. I always feel so culturally inept around here. :P
I prefer Sarah, I think. I like Sara, too, but I'm just more used to Sarah. It is pretty common, but still usable. Most Sarahs I've met spelt their name with the H. In fact, I know only one that spells it without it and one Zahra. All in all, I probably know around ten.
A lot of people would probably spell it Sarah upon hearing it first, but I think Sara is gaining popularity. I think Sarah will stay in the top 100 for some time to come yet. I can't imagine it becoming totally unpopular.
I definitely like Sara(h) better than Sarai and Zara. Sarai is all right but too biblical for me. Zara seems like you noticed that Sara(h) is so popular wanted something different.

It's called "Sara, die kleine Prinzessin" in German. It's a childrens' book by Frances Hodgson Burnett (the author of "The Secret Garden". It's not that popular in Germany but well known in English speaking countries.
Hmmm...
I don't know it in German either. But "The Secret Garden"! Finally something that I actually do know. ;) It used to be my favourite book.

Sara reminds me of 'A Little Princess' too, this is a really nice association :)
I prefer Sara, pronounced SAR-a instead of SAIR-ah, Sara looks less frilly, also Sarah is way too common.
I've only ever met one Sara, who pronounced it differently to Sarah. I know many Sarah's though, there was about 8 in my year at school and I have a cousin named this. I know of Sarah's from all ages.
I think it depends on the pronunciation, but people would most probably spell it Sarah as it's the most commonly recognised spelling. It'd always be Sarah without the 'H'.
I don't think Sarah/Sara will ever lose popularity, as I mentioned I know of Sarah's of all ages. I don't think it'll be as popular as it has been in previous years, but I don't think it will go off the charts all together for a while yet at least.
I don't really care for Sarai. Zara is pretty and less common than Sara or Sarah, I think it makes a nice alternative :)
