[Opinions] Sunniva?
WDYTO it? How do you personally pronounce it (I know it's not pronounced so it sounds like son-of-a)? Any teasing potential/problems that might arise with this name? §

I know someone with this name; she pronounces it sun-EE-va. I quite like it, especially its meaning. The nn Sunny is cool too.

I liked it at first, but I got bored with it. I think it sounds kind of weird.

I think it's beautiful, and its meaning is absolutely incredible. I prn it soo-NEE-va, so I don't see any teasing issues there.

I'm pretty sure it's SOO-nee-vah, though the default English pronunciation would be suh-NEE-vah. I love the name.

I do say it like son of a. I'd really like it if I didn't. I can say it sun-ee-va if I say it slow, but I don't talk slow.Other than that, I don't think there's a teasing issue. I remember this was sort of a BTN-trendy name not long after I started posting. People liked it for the NN Sunny, if I recall right.

I love this name pronounced sun-EE-va but I think it might actually be pronounced along the same lines as Godiva, so sun-EYE-va but I don't like that as much. The meaning is beautiful too which is a plus. I don't think there would be too many issues, not enough anyway to override it being a really nice uncommon name.

It's supposed to be soohn-EE-va. Not rhyming with Godiva.

Did you find that somewhere or is that just how you would prefer it to be pronounced? I'm just wondering as I couldn't find any definitive answer when I've looked before. Since Godiva is formed from the same element 'gifu' that's why I thought it might be more correct but on checking again most seem to have the i as ee. I like soon-ee-va just as much.

Gifu doesn't have anything to do with the prnGifu simply means "gift" and therefore it doesn't have anything to do with the prn. Here in Sweden we prn Sunniva like SUHNN-iva or something like that.
