Both names are really hansdome! It IS a shame you can't use Alexander, it's gorgeous. Evander is nice and you could als ouse the nn Evan, I guess. Lysander is another name that if close to Alexander that you may want to consider.
Elijah's nice enough, but I would go with Eli as a full name over Elijah.
Evander Christian and Elijah Christian are both good names.
