I love
Elinor. I'm not so keen on
Eleanor because of the "lean" bit. I have known three Eleanors, one old and the other two middle-aged (and there's also the famous British actress
Eleanor Bron, a real beauty in her prime) - but the name Elinor/Eleanor is classic and for all ages and times.
Elinor strikes me as prettier, and I think of
Jane Austen's
Elinor Dashwood. I love
Elinor as a form of
Eleanor and also as a modern Hebrew name neaning "God is my light".
I don't like
Nell. I'd go for
Ellie or
Nora, but I'd try to avoid a nn because the full name is so elegant and lovely.
